Now Available: (512) Whiskey Barrel Aged Double Pecan Porter by Kevin - Owner/Brewer

Our first barrel project is in kegs and on it’s way to beer bars around Austin. This is a bigger, bolder version of our mainstay Pecan Porter, with a richer finish. Two months on recently emptied Jack Daniels select barrels imparted a wonderful vanilla character from the oak and a pleasant amount of whiskey nose and flavor. All in all, I’m really proud of the hard work and effort put into this beer. Our first attempt at brewing it and our first attempt at managing barrels has paid off for everyone! Seek out this beer, but don’t put it off. There is a very limited number of kegs available and it might go fast…

Thanks for all the support this year and look for a whole lot of (512) activities and exciting beers in 2010!

Had your Double Pecan at the Dig on Sunday — the best Porter I’ve ever had — absolutley incredible. Well done!

Had x2 pints of (512)Pecan Porter at Billy’s on Burnet last night. Don’t know if it was the new Double Pecan (and neither did the bar chick) but whatever iteration they were pouring, it was outstanding. One of the best porters I’ve ever tasted, hands down. Keep up the great work.

Any idea who in Austin has Double Pecan Porter available tonight? The Flying Saucer is the only one I have been able to locate and they won’t be tapping it until Saturday.

In the past week I’ve been to The Ginger Man, The Dig, & Billy’s & I can’t find this brew. The Ginger Man & The Dig were both out & the bartender at Billy’s didn’t even know what this brew was. Can I find the Whiskey Aged Pecan Porter anywhere in Austin?

hello and hearty congrats for the raves on your x2 Porter pecan, I’d really love to be able to sip, sample, session, however.. I know, my loss, but rightly don’t get down there from big-D~funky-cowtown too much. Will you kindly advise if any has shippped to an ale/pub house up here?

And by all means kindly consider bottling a test run for regional distribution, enough folks hoppin on it may get it up-n-out there. I’m on BA, and lots gets sent around as gifts to share, sample and review. As an example, Midnite Sun.. Alaska brewer killed it on a seasonal American porter aptly called an awesome Oak-Aged Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter. Sounds too dang good not to pursue one or two bottles as does this one

I tried it at the Whip In the other night. It is amazing! I want to find more. They said they were almost out. Great job! Where is it available?
