Just one NOTE: Contrary to what’s listed in Rare, (512) does not add flour or natural preservatives (other than hops) to the beer.

Coming to you from sunny but chilly Denver, Colorado at the Great American Beer Festival! The entire show looks awesome with not only a room full of the greatest craft brewers on the planet, but lots of activities, open houses and parties.

Our booth location could not be better. As the guests come in the main entrance, we have the first tasting booth. Each booth is about 10×10. At the back, we found kegs of our 5 beers tapped and iced down (The Wit, Pale, IPA, Pecan Porter and the One), ready for all the thirsty beer enthusiast to taste. We are in the “Southwest” area so we are surrounded by brewers from our area of the country.

Roaming the hall is amazing. I have been to a lot of conferences (mostly corporate trade shows) and this is the largest show I have been too. Over 500 brewers here with over 2100 beers to sample. Obviously, more than any one person can taste, if you do the math, but many will try.

READY FOR DESSERT? Within a day or two of this post, you should be able to go to 2 Amy’s Ice Cream locations in Austin and get a bowl or cone of the NEW (512) Pecan Porter Ice Cream, made with our own (512) Pecan Porter (duh).

Remember that new fermentor we added back in July? We just filled it up with our 1st DOUBLE BATCH of (512) IPA ever. Getting the new tank will allow us to brew 60 barrel double batches of your favorite (512) brews and get them out to your favorite establishment even faster.

Some of you saw the new fermenter at our 1st Anniversary Party and now you can taste what it has to offer.

Look at all these tap handles, slated for many more locations around Austin. Thanks to your continued support, we’re growing rapidly. If you know of a place that should have (512) or doesn’t have your favorite (512) style, please let us know!

To support all the new accounts and at least 5 beers , more fermentation capacity is required, so we located a good used tank and received it this week! Soon it will be installed and ready for fermenting and aging (512) Beers! 80BBL Uni-tank!

This extra fermentation space will enable us to continue to brew exciting and new seasonals while maintaining the four core (512) beers. Speaking of seasonals…

(512) ONE, our 1st Anniversary Ale, is due to be released at the Anniversary Party. I’ll send out an email with the party and beer details soon…

The (512) Spring Open House was another great party with a huge turn out!

We changed our beer serving strategy to shorten the lines, although it sounds like the line was still too long and slow. The next event will be better…..I promise. As Chip told me once, “you just need to do more of these”… and we will!

Look for a summer event of some sort. Our anniversary is coming up in July and we’re hoping to brew something very special, most likely labeled (512) ONE, to commemorate our first year of brewing and selling in Austin!
